Job Title: Senior Scientist

Location: London

Cpl Life Sciences are partnered with a leading CRO to source for a Senior Scientist to lead the development of their C-MS/MS-based cardiac diagnostics programme. This role is pivotal in advancing their targeted proteomic assays to clinical standards (ISO15189, CLIA) and driving biomarker discovery in heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the cardiac diagnostics programme and manage LC-MS/MS assay development and validation.

• Design and conduct complex experiments, analyse data, and assess the feasibility of new assays.

• Drive biomarker discovery and support clinical trial biomarker studies, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.

• Oversee project documentation, risk management, and compliance with trial protocols.

• Manage resources, reporting, and contribute to SOPs and operational processes.

• Liaise with external partners and study teams, including attending progress meetings.

• Engage directly with clients and contribute to smooth lab operations, equipment troubleshooting, and safety compliance.

• Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• PhD in biochemistry or related field (preferred).

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mass spectrometry and method development.

• Background in cardiac research and clinical trial environments is advantageous.

• Proven ability to lead projects, write scientific reports, and work cross-functionally.
