At Workday, Project Managers are called Engagement Managers. They are delivery specialists in Business Applications, specifically the full scope of the Workday solution related to the Office of the oCFO and oCHRO within our Government Vertical.
As an Engagement Manager at Workday, you are more than just a Project Manager; you are a trusted advisor to our customers. You will engage, guide, and ensure success in their implementation of Workday’s cloud enterprise software products.
Your responsibilities include setting up project planning, staffing, governance, and shaping key project deliverables like the project charter and issues log. You will build close relationships with the Customer Project Manager to resolve issues and manage the project budget effectively.
What you’ll be doing
- Share your experience and oversee the success of other projects within our Delivery Assurance quality control framework
- Manage Workday product implementations
- Participate in the sales cycle to capture requirements and develop proposals
- Guide and mentor Professional Services resources
- Ensure accurate project planning and staffing
- Identify and resolve issues impacting scope or timelines
- Collaborate with Workday Partners for project compliance
- Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings
- Coordinate with sales and business development teams
- Identify opportunities to promote other service offerings
- Ensure clients can serve as references post-implementation
- Assist in transitioning customers to Product Support
- Deliver projects within the outlined budget
After your first 12 months, we expect you to:
- Become an authority in Workday's Implementation Methodology
- Share knowledge within Delivery Assurance and internal initiatives
- Demonstrate competency in leading Workday HCM, Financials, and/or Planning implementations
- Take full project P+L ownership
About You
The role requires a blend of business skills, customer focus, and a desire to support the Delivery team’s success.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years delivering complex enterprise business applications projects, including within Local and National Government
- Experience with global deployments is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Location: London or Reading
Other Qualifications
- Experience deploying ERP technology solutions
- Proficiency in business English; additional European languages are beneficial
- Knowledge of Finance and Human Resources processes
- Cross-functional knowledge is advantageous
- Willingness to 'roll up sleeves' and assist wherever needed
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and follow-through
