Description

The Youth Engagement Provision is part of the wider Employment and Enterprise team at Cornwall Council. It incorporates a number of Youth Engagement Projects delivered in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and other stakeholders. The service focuses on creating opportunities for young people and developing collaborative initiatives between the business sector and education.

The Role

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of Youth Engagement Provision. The post holder will proactively identify and develop additional opportunities for collaboration and manage external organisations working with the Youth Engagement team to ensure the best opportunities for young people. This role brings together different teams delivering Youth Engagement opportunities across Cornwall with a clear focus on young people aged 16‑24 who are economically inactive, unemployed or not in education, employment or training, enabling their integration into mainstream employment and training.

The Team Leader Youth Engagement will coordinate resources, reduce duplication and improve communication between partners to meet participant needs in line with Cornwall Council’s Youth Engagement agenda. A significant aspect of the role is ensuring people with SEND, SEMH and health issues have access to employability support and opportunities such as work placements, internships, traineeships, apprenticeships and paid work. The post holder will also support employers and partners to embed inclusive approaches.

Working Pattern

This is a full‑time position based in Bodmin.
