Your Role
This role involves creation, optimization, and testing of CNC programs for various machines used in parts manufacturing/production. Responsibilities include:
- Tooling definition and feasibility studies
- Tool path creation with necessary documentation such as cutting parameter sheets, post-processing, and Vericut simulation
- Optimization of NC programs using tools like Third Wave Production (TWS) Module
- Prove-out of NC programs on machines
- Create, optimize, and validate offline & online CMM programs and support measurement activities
- Create simulation and error-proofing of programs, improve existing CMM programs for better performance
- Determine program measurement strategies and highlight features that cannot be programmed with technical justification
- Create technical instructions, quality documents, inspection planning documents, and technical programming packs
- Perform correlation studies and identify improvement areas through validation
- Coordinate and interact with customers and offshore teams
- Create and share best practices and training for local users
- Maintain CMM programs and tool inventories
- Identify and report recurring quality concerns
- Perform measurement systems analysis (MSA) as per current standards
Minimum Requirements
- Experience operating CNC turning, milling, and multi-axis mill-turn machines
- Experience in NC programming for machines like Hermle, DMG, VDF, Mazak
- Experience analyzing legacy NC code and migrating to NX programs
- Experience in prove-out programs on machines
- Knowledge of NX modeling and drafting (preferred)
- Understanding of tool and parameter selection for machining
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, sketches, models, and drawings
- Knowledge of aircraft engine components and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of cutting tools, machining strategies, and parameters
- Data analysis and reporting skills
- Program and interface management experience
- Hands-on experience with online and offline CMM programming and measurement
- Ability to interpret engineering definitions and geometric tolerancing
- Experience with CAD systems, especially 3D models for CMM programming
- Knowledge of GD&T (e.g., ASME Y14.5M)
- Gas turbine/aero engine domain experience is preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Tools: Teamcenter, UG NX CAD/CAM, Vericut, Third Wave Production, MS Office
