The OT Security Expert (m / f / d) is responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of security measures related to OT, keeping an eye on the expanding IT and OT attack landscape. In this role, you will also act as a liaison with the local IT department and provide IT expertise to PCT engineers during projects and for general problem solving. You will report directly to the global OT Security Officer.

In addition to our many benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary of between 87.200 / year and 105.900 / year plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary depends on your qualifications and professional experience.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

1. You are responsible for the implementation of OT security standards at small sites, system houses, and downstream companies where the local OT security officer is not a DCS or cybersecurity expert, thereby improving Covestro's resilience to attacks.
2. You will advise the local PCTs on IT-related technical questions on security aspects of process automation systems (e.g., domains, network segmentation, ICS upgrade, time synchronization, license management, firewalls, patching, server hardening, SIEM, PAM, remote access, network monitoring, etc.).
3. You work on security blueprints for e.g., PAM in the OT area.
4. You work closely with the COV cyber defense team, the local OT security officer, the supplier, and the IT department to respond to incidents.
5. Oversee the IT/OT security risk situation at the assigned sites and provide an overview of remediation actions.

Your Profile:

1. You hold a Degree in engineering, computer sciences, or a related degree with several years of professional work experience in a PCT domain.
2. You must have a couple of years of professional experience in OT security (design, implementation, and operation) in an industrial environment with a good understanding of the current threat landscape and countermeasures.
3. Further knowledge includes experience with endpoint security solutions (Antimalware, Application control) and good experience with network design, firewall configuration, device hardening, virtualization, and management.
4. Experience with AWS would be a plus.
5. Furthermore, you have knowledge of the ICS architecture, Purdue model, ICS network protocols (IP-based and serial), and working knowledge with Industrial Cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443, NIST.
6. Professional Security-related certifications (GICSP, ISA / IEC 62443 Expert, etc.) would be a plus.
7. Personally, you effectively communicate risks and risk mitigation programs to the senior leadership and stakeholders; you speak at least fluent English (German is a plus) and are willing to travel as needed.
