RVA is looking for an experienced Engineering Technologist, Instrumentation and Controls.

The position can be based out of any of our offices located in Toronto/Halton/St. Catherine's/Waterloo/Sudbury/London/Ottawa.

Duties:

1. Drafting and Design of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), PLC panel layouts, I/O loop diagrams, instrument installation details, SCADA systems and network architecture layouts for major water and wastewater projects;
2. Generate project specifications including Process Control Narratives from Master documents;
3. Perform Contract Administration including shop drawing review, witnessing of equipment and systems factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and troubleshooting for major water and wastewater projects;
4. Perform Site Inspections including data gathering and deficiency reviews at water and wastewater projects;
5. Provide drafting support for RVA’s electrical department including site plans, single line diagrams, and control circuit wiring diagrams for various types of starters and process equipment.

Qualifications:

1. A graduate of a 3-year college-level electrical/controls engineering technologist program or a 2-year electrical/controls technician program;
2. Experience in PLC panel design, I/O loop diagrams, and control circuit wiring diagrams is required;
3. Certified Technician (C.Tech.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is an asset;
4. Experience and/or knowledge of instrumentation and SCADA systems is an asset;
5. Experience in process controls for water/wastewater processes is an asset;
6. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
7. Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite;
8. Experience with REVIT is an asset;
9. Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written;
10. Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, clients and contractors;
11. Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle for site visits.
