Description of Role:

On behalf of our valued client, Axis Recruitment is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic design-focused individual with a minimum of 5 years experience in laboratory design and 8-10 years of architectural experience for their Toronto or Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have well-rounded architectural experience and demonstrated experience in the design and documentation of complex laboratory and healthcare projects. They should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, very good organizational skills, and be able to multi-task in a busy office.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to architectural design, detailing, and documentation on projects in collaboration with the project architects and team members.
• Meet with clients and stakeholders to design a wide range of laboratory and investigative spaces.
• Plan and coordinate a variety of laboratory spaces including wet labs, dry labs, and animal labs.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment requirements with engineering and FFE teams.
• Prepare architectural models and drawings using Revit and other modeling software.

Must Haves:

• 5+ years experience working on lab/healthcare related projects.
• Advanced training and work experience in Revit.
• A professional degree in Architecture.

Nice-to-haves:

• Demonstrated experience in the planning and documentation of animal care facilities would be considered an asset.
• Experience with complex room data management systems such as dRofus.
• Working knowledge of current versions of AutoCAD. Experience in modeling software such as Rhino, Sketchup, 3D Max, and CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is considered an asset.
• Experience during the contract administration phase of a complex lab environment is considered an asset.

Salary: $90-110k
