Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field from an accredited university
• 2 to 3 years experience in events management

• Team oriented, strong willed and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and community members
• Experience in planning, organizing, and executing events and activities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work
• Skills in building and maintaining relationships with students, faculty, community organizations, and external partners
• Excellent supplier and vendor relationship management

Job Description

• Contribute and assist the department head in the implementation of department strategies, goals and objectives.
• Organize and attend activities or events to raise awareness about the university and provide feedback.
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities for promotion and growth for the university.
• Collaborate with managers in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses.
• Coordinate activities related to budget and funding (event preparation and submissions, as well as progress reports), liaise with appropriate service providers.
• Ensure implementation of events and campaigns to publicize priority issues and/or major events, to include drafting, coordinating efforts, monitoring and reporting on progress, taking appropriate follow-up action, and analyzing the outcome.
• Coordinating design approval, printing procedures and distribution.
• Liaise with various service providers and internal departments to facilitate events and activities.
• Responsible for events and activities related to VIP dignitaries.
• Assign and sort tasks for junior staff and monitor performance and report to the department head
• Act as focal point on specific issues, monitor and report on developments, respond to inquiries, etc.
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the assigned event; monitor and analyze event development and implementation.
• Identify problems and issues to be addressed and propose corrective actions; identify and track follow-up actions.
