- Create and implement menus that adhere to the restaurant’s standards, as well as the local tastes and preferences
- Develop recipes for new dishes as needed
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and are cooked correctly and presented attractively
- Ensure that all food items are fresh, of the highest quality, and meet health codes
- Inspect food deliveries to ensure quality standards are met
- Supervise kitchen staff in their daily tasks, including recipe preparation, cleaning, proper storage of foods, and other related duties
- Train staff in preparation techniques, safety protocols, kitchen sanitation practices, menu items etc.
- Maintain budgeted costs through efficient use of supplies and materials
- Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and order items when necessary
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a similar environment preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
