Our client based in Durban, KZN, is currently seeking a skilled Procurement Manager.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for formulating strategy, managing change, and leading both internal and external stakeholders in procurement and supply chain activities. The role involves developing, improving, and fulfilling organizational and functional objectives within procurement and supply.
Main Job Functions
Position & Influence
- Lead the procurement function.
- Design and implement strategies for procurement and supply chain aligned with corporate strategy.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills.
- Develop and implement procedures and governance for effective procurement.
- Promote the contribution of procurement and supply chain functions towards achieving corporate objectives with stakeholders.
Technology
- Leverage technology, master data, and reporting systems to support sourcing strategies and operational efficiency in procurement and supply chain management.
Spend Management
- Create sourcing plans to deliver lean, agile supply chains, mitigate risks, and add value.
- Align supply chain management with corporate and business strategies such as cost competitiveness, quality, reliability, product differentiation, and time to market.
- Negotiate, implement, and maintain pricing mechanisms.
Contracting
- Develop and implement contracts.
- Understand and interpret legal aspects of contracts.
Sourcing
- Evaluate opportunities for global and low-cost country sourcing to create competitive advantage.
- Monitor risks across global sources and develop mitigation strategies.
Delivering Outcomes
- Develop supplier relationship management processes, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, and ensure continuous improvement for effective delivery of goods and services.
Metrics & Measurements
- Establish KPIs with suppliers and stakeholders for supply chain performance.
- Analyze data related to prices, costs, and financial savings to improve performance.
- Monitor delivery metrics and implement improvements as needed.
People Development
- Enhance the capabilities of procurement personnel.
- Recruit and assign personnel and resources to optimize the procurement function.
Ethics
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and uphold ethical procurement standards.
- Lead initiatives to promote high ethical standards in procurement practices.
Qualifications
BCom in Supply Chain, a procurement-specialized degree, or CSCP certification.
Criteria
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience. A background in supply chain is advantageous.
