Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience, proficiency in MS Excel, and hands-on experience with TMS platforms. A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management is advantageous.

Planner – Transport Management System (TMS)

POSITION INFO
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
  • The TMS Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing daily transport operations through the Company’s Transport Management System (TMS).
  • This role ensures cost‑efficient routing, optimal vehicle utilisation, and high service levels while maintaining full compliance with the South African Transport Legislation and Company Safety Standards.
  • The Planner acts as the central coordination point between operations, drivers, customers, and carriers, ensuring accurate execution, real‑time problem solving, and continuous improvement in transport performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Matric (Grade 12); a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management will be advantageous;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and general IT systems; 3–5 years’ experience in transport planning or logistics operations;
  • Hands‑on experience with TMS platforms (such as Trackmatic, Cargowise, Oracle TMS, SAP TM, FleetOps, Mix Telematics);
  • Strong knowledge of South African Transport Legislation and operational constraints; experience with route optimisation tools;
  • Exposure to retail distribution, mining, bulk logistics, or line‑haul operations.
