A maritime hospitality company in Pretoria seeks a dedicated individual for a role assisting in food and beverage management aboard a cruise ship. Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least a year of relevant experience, along with strong organizational skills.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting food and beverage deliveries from suppliersonboard a cruise ship
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of all food and beverage items
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies to the Food Storekeeper
- Assist in preparing and packing orders for delivery to vessels
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the food storage areas
- Assist in conducting regular stock checks and ordering of necessary supplies
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with regulations
- Assist in training and supervising junior storekeeping staff
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a maritime or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
