The Role: Sales and Marketing Manager
We are seeking a results‑driven Sales & Marketing Manager to spearhead business development and marketing initiatives within the logistics industry. This role is ideal for an industry professional with proven transport broking experience, a strong network of contacts, and the ability to secure and manage high‑value accounts. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, building client relationships, and shaping the company's market presence.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and marketing within the logistics/transport industry
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and market share
- Identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities in freight forwarding, transport, and logistics
- Leverage industry network to secure new clients and partnerships
- Oversee transport broking operations to ensure profitability and efficiency
- Build, mentor, and lead a small sales team to meet objectives
- Manage client relationships with a focus on retention and service excellence
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Collaborate with executive management on strategic growth initiatives
- Proven background as a Transport Broker with strong commercial acumen
- Established network and client contacts in the South African logistics sector
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Durban-based or willing to relocate (remote work with Durban preference)
- Highly motivated heavy hitter with a track record of exceeding targets
- Advantageous: experience in freight forwarding, warehousing, and 3PL solutions
- Advantageous: tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Logistics
- Advantageous: bilingual in English & Afrikaans or Zulu
