This Position reports to: Senior Engineering Manager
This position contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions group in the United States. As the Sr. Project Engineer - Protection & Control, you will be responsible for designing and executing the protection and control engineering components of projects and ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. You will also perform engineering analysis and troubleshoot automation, control, and protection in power systems. You should approach customers with integrity and respect for long lasting relationships, using your experience and expertise to solve problems and achieve objectives per business metrics. This role can be remote or based in Houston, TX or Lake Mary, FL.
ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening grid resilience. The Division offers segment-specific products and solutions serving utilities, industry and infrastructure segments, often providing the requisite medium voltage link between high-voltage transmission systems and low-voltage users. ABB Ability enabled connected solutions at its core, with a portfolio including medium-voltage switchgear, relays, instrument transformers, sensors, motor control centers, and low-voltage switchgear for ANSI markets.

Benefits and retirement
Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with company contributions, ESAP, paid holidays, vacation under a permissive time away policy, and a range of health, life, disability, and other voluntary benefits. The base salary range for this position is approximately $98,700 – $157,920 annually.
