We have an amazing opportunity for a Graphic Designer (Mid – weight) to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating visual concepts using computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. Develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines and publications, corporate reports, and other marketing initiatives internally and externally. Be able to guide and mentor junior team members where necessary. Report on daily activities.

You Bring:

5. 3 – 5 years in a Graphic Designer role

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design

1. General design work (posters, flyers, merchandise, and other marketing material).
2. Determine the message the design should portray and work closely with the marketing function.
3. Create images in line with the marketing strategy and brand strategy, aligned to internal company design preferences.
4. Display a range of creative design techniques to materialize the concept and design required.
5. Achieve deadlines and work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
6. Update adverts on the website and betting displays.
7. Liaise with branch team leaders and managers regarding any design work requested for their branch.
8. Deep etch pictures in Photoshop.
9. Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
10. Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
11. Prepare finished copy and prepare final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
12. Complete projects by coordinating with printing and publishing.
13. Anticipate the type of design required based on past experience and feedback.
14. Perform adhoc tasks and jobs.

2. Ensure logical saving of all work, designs, artwork, approvals, etc.
3. Ensure that all artwork, designs, approvals, etc. are chronologically saved/backed up.
4. Ensure error-free designs with accurate content.
