Cape Town, South Africa | Posted on 26 / 02 / We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead Octotel's sales efforts in the FTTH (Fibre to the Home) and FTTB (Fibre to the Business) markets, with a strong emphasis on dark fibre and enterprise sales.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the FNO industry, established relationships with property developers, and a proven track record in negotiating large-scale agreements.
This role requires a proactive individual to build and nurture relationships across the fibre, telecom, real estate, and enterprise sectors.
You will be responsible for business development in the Western Cape and Gauteng, reporting directly to the General Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development : Execute a direct enterprise strategy in the local market, driving sales and business development activities for dark fibre, and consumer & SME fibre offerings.Segment and prioritize prospective clients in collaboration with the Area Managers and Retentions Manager, focusing on uptake campaigns.Deliver quarterly and annual revenue objectives through personal efforts and team leadership.Client and Market Engagement : Proactively engage prospective clients to establish relationships, understand their needs, and develop tailored solutions.Work with property developers, enterprise clients, and industry stakeholders to promote Octotel's services.Educate clients on sales processes with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and manage expectations.Strategic Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with property managers, developers, and enterprise clients.Negotiate and secure contracts with developers, municipalities, and key enterprise stakeholders.Market Expansion and Networking : Identify opportunities to expand Octotel's presence in residential and commercial developments.Represent Octotel at industry events, client meetings, and PR activities to enhance brand visibility.Team Leadership and Collaboration : Manage and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting targets and ensuring accountability.Share knowledge and collaborate with local and virtual teams to meet business objectives.Operational Excellence : Manage the sales pipeline using systems like Pipedrive.Collaborate with analysts and marketing teams to develop market strategies.Report sales activities and performance to business analysts for review.RequirementsExperience : Minimum 10 years in sales or business development within the FNO, telecom, or fibre industry.
Proven success with property developers and large-scale negotiations.
Experience in dark fibre and enterprise sales.Skills : Exceptional negotiation, communication, relationship-building, strategic planning, and forecasting skills.Knowledge : Deep understanding of fibre, telecom, and enterprise connectivity markets.
Familiarity with digital and programmatic media buying is advantageous.Other : Established network in fibre, enterprise sales, or property development sectors.
