The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth North Pinellas

The role you'll contribute: The Surgical Technologist III is a member of the healthcare team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse according to the accepted clinical standards of care.

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure
• Prepares scrubs, gowns, and gloves
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure; displays knowledge of procedure and patient positioning
• Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
• Gowns and gloves the surgeon and assistants
• Helps in draping the sterile field
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room
• Prepares the room for the next patient

Qualifications

The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed:

• High School Graduate / GED
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• CST with at least two years of experience
• Current CST / Certified Surgical Assistant certification
• AMA BLS certification
