The Grab Web team owns and manages our public Grab.com website. We work collaboratively across different functions between Singapore and Malaysia to drive growth and awareness on the web domain across our Consumers, Drivers, Merchants, and Partners. You'll be part of a working group that values quality and strives for continuous improvement through collaboration and new ideas. Our communication is in English, both in spoken and written form.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work across the entire stack from databases to backend services to our front‑end UI. You will be focused on leading initiatives that drive organic web traffic growth and stability of the service. You will also be working on maintaining and improving the quality of the service after launch. You'll collaborate with engineering, product, design and business teams to help achieve the team's goals.

You will decide to reporting to an Engineering Manager and work onsite at our Malaysia office in Petaling Jaya.

• Lead end-to-end feature development and technical decisions
• Build UIs with JavaScript/TypeScript and backend services in Golang
• Write SQL queries and optimize performance
• Design scalable, reliable infrastructure and service architecture
• Improve and shape new technical architecture with a focus on scalability and performance of our services
• Support non-technical stakeholder requests on our Wordpress CMS
• When issues arise, you'll conduct root cause analysis investigations to identify and rectify them
• Debug and make necessary modifications to our production software to ensure that our software is always running smoothly, providing a reliable service to our users
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and team members to deliver features
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to foster growth

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields
• 3+ years of experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer
• Experience with web frameworks and tools such as React.js, Redux.js, Webpack
• Experience with backend development in Golang including API development, databases, caching techniques, queueing frameworks
• Experience with CMS tooling such as Wordpress
• Understand more complex data structures and algorithms, and recognize when to use them
• Strong grasp of SOLID principles and ability to write scalable, maintainable code
• Experience designing services using clean architecture
• Proficient in SQL and version control systems
• Familiar with defect tracking tools
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab
