A leading edible oil manufacturer is looking for a Plant Manager to lead all plant operations and improvement activities. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Controlling day-to-day operations of all manufacturing resources to ensure the fulfilment of scheduled production requirements and priorities
2. Developing and managing the strategies, plans and produces to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company
3. Setting and controlling budgets, targets and objectives (KPIs), and providing regular reports on progress in order to achieve the overall organisational and financial objectives
4. Ensuring compliance with external regulatory agencies and organisations
5. Developing a clear performance objective for the employees and ensuring that key roles are staffed with people who can effectively undertake their roles in the business and that the roles are clearly defined and understood
6. Ensuring that all production equipment is maintained in good working order and in accordance with safety and health standards, maintenance instructions, good housekeeping and regulatory requirements
7. Effectively managing labour requirements, manpower planning, production planning, stock management, instrumentation calibration, plant improvement while developing innovative systems and processes
8. Ensuring the maintenance of an efficient labour force by establishing an effective industrial relations climate in which employees are trained and motivated to fulfil production function accountabilities
9. Proposing for the inclusion of all capital expenditure for replacement and improvement to the manufacturing and laboratory facilities in the company's operating plan
10. Improving processes and policies in support of organizational goals, formulating and implementing departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output, and monitoring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
11. Providing technical support and services and addressing production and quality issues to marketers whenever necessary

Key Requirements:

1. Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field of study
2. Minimum eight years of operations management experience, preferably within the edible oil manufacturing environment
3. Familiarity with complex chemical processes and refineries is highly desirable
4. Proven track record within manufacturing management
5. Knowledgeable in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies
6. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
7. Excels at operating in a fast-paced, community environment
8. Computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
9. Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
10. Ability to look at situations from several points of view
11. Demonstrated leadership ability
