Job summary
A global customer service firm in Malaysia seeks a skilled language interpreter to provide accurate communication between individuals speaking different languages. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening skills, cultural sensitivity, and a B2 CEFR English Level in English, along with skills in other languages. The role includes interpreting on telephone or video calls, processing information quickly, and using industry-specific terminology.
Qualifications
- Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to concentrate and remain neutral in conversations.
- Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication.
Responsibilities
- Provide language interpretation for individuals with language barriers.
- Handle telephone or video calls and interpret in consecutive mode.
- Use appropriate industry terminology in various sectors.
Skills
- Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
- Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
- Ability to follow client's instructions closely
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client
- B2 CEFR English Level bilingual wih other required languages
- Able to work from home on a permanent basis
- Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individual with language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
- Handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
- Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
- The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
