We are looking for a diligent and responsible Operator to manage the day-to-day operations of the biogas plant. Reporting to the Operations Engineer, the Operator will be responsible for running and monitoring the plant equipment, ensuring that production processes are efficient and safe. The role involves monitoring biogas production, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Operator will also assist in basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks to support the overall functionality of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operation & Monitoring: Operate biogas plant machinery, such as pumps, mixers, and gas processing units, ensuring they function according to established procedures. Monitor process parameters and adjust equipment settings as needed to optimize production.
2. Process Control: Maintain and control the input of raw materials, monitor anaerobic digestion processes, and regulate the flow of gas, ensuring consistent production of biogas.
3. Performance Tracking: Track key metrics such as gas yield, pressure levels, and temperature. Record data from sensors, gauges, and meters for reporting purposes.
4. Equipment Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment to ensure it is functioning properly. Identify and report any anomalies or operational inefficiencies to the Operations Engineer.
5. Basic Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting minor operational issues. Work with the maintenance team to address any mechanical or electrical problems.
6. Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment, ensuring the plant is kept in a clean and orderly condition. Assist in routine and preventive maintenance under the guidance of the Operations Engineer.
7. Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, use protective gear, and ensure that safety and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to. Report any safety hazards immediately.
8. Reporting & Documentation: Accurately record plant operations data and equipment performance metrics. Maintain logs of any adjustments, issues, or maintenance activities for review by management.
9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations Engineer and other plant staff to ensure that daily production goals are met and operational issues are promptly addressed.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in plant operations or industrial machinery is an advantage.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in plant or industrial operations, preferably in energy production, waste management, or related sectors.
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of industrial equipment such as pumps, mixers, and control systems. Experience with biogas or anaerobic digestion processes is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor and adjust equipment settings with precision and ensure all operations are running smoothly.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assist in identifying and resolving operational issues efficiently.
• Safety Awareness: Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in an industrial setting.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting operational issues and collaborating with the team.
• Team Player: Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors to ensure plant operations are smooth and productive.
