We're looking for a Second Technical Co-Founder

We're a few weeks away from releasing our beta, with a public launch scheduled for September. We’re looking to complete our team with a tech mind passionate about coding and Breakice’s social mission.

What we’re building Breakice is a social discovery platform designed for expats, international students, and newcomers. Our proprietary algorithm pairs people for offline activities in small groups, fostering genuine, lasting relationships. Some activities we offer :

We aim to revolutionise how people integrate into new cities, starting from Milan and expanding across Europe.

Who’s onboard Growth strategist –5,000+ offline experiences created between expats and local families. Finance expert –supported scale‑ups raising $25‑40M rounds. Tech Lead & Architect –owns mobile, backend, AWS cloud and AI agents.

Tech stack The front-end is developed as a React Native application using Expo, providing a seamless cross-platform user experience. The back-end is built on AWS infrastructure, with APIs implemented in TypeScript and deployed via AWS Lambda. User data is managed through Pinecone, a vector database optimized for semantic search and user matching.

Roadmap : beta release in July → public launch in September → rapid scaling

What you’ll do Solidify backend & mobile for the beta, ensuring performance and code quality. Advance the matching algorithm with AI / vector tech. Design infrastructure to scale beyond the first cities. Shape a remote‑first dev culture : CI / CD, code reviews, observability.

Who we’re looking for We're looking for a versatile full-stack developer who understands architectural solutions and can confidently work across both frontend and backend. Frontend : Strong experience with React Native and Expo for mobile app development. Backend : Proficiency with AWS services and products, TypeScript, and vector-based databases like Pinecone. Familiarity with AWS Lambda is a strong plus. A problem solver who values scalable, maintainable architecture and enjoys working in a remote-first, collaborative environment.
