As a Data Architect, your main responsibilities will include:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high‑performing data architectures tailored to insurance business needs.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
- Define data storage, integration, and access strategies, including cloud‑based and on‑premises solutions.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure seamless data integration across various systems (policy management, claims, underwriting, customer experience, etc.).
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data processing, storage, and analytics.
- Define data stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.
- Develop and implement data quality frameworks, monitoring mechanisms, and remediation plans.
- Lead the development of a data governance roadmap, aligning with business priorities.
A successful Data Architect should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or related roles within the insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies.
- Familiarity with insurance domain concepts, including underwriting, claims, and actuarial data.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Talend, etc.).
- Experience implementing AI/ML‑driven data analytics for insurance risk assessment and fraud detection.
