Job summary
A local authority in North London is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to assess planning applications, provide reports, and represent the Council at hearings. The role requires significant experience in a Local Authority planning environment and effective negotiation skills. This contract lasts at least 6 months at a rate of £40.59/hr (umbrella).

Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of planning applications at all stages.
- Represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries.
- Liaise with agents, applicants and the public daily.
Skills
Our client is a Local Authority in North London. They need a Senior Planning Officer to take up a role dealing with assessing a range of planning applications at every stage, including consultation exercises, providing written reports, carrying out site assessments and dealing with appeals. On occasion you will represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries.
- Lead the assessment of planning applications at all stages, including consultation, site visits and reporting.
- Represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries when required.
- Liaise with agents, applicants and the public on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide informed, accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.
- Negotiate planning obligations under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act.
- Established Town Planning Officer with significant experience in a Local Authority planning environment.
The role will last at least 6 months and the rate will be a minimum of £40.59/hr (umbrella).
