We have an exciting opportunity for a substantive Quality Assurance Clinician to join a small but developing, dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality s117 and specialist placement package assurance and support, alongside supporting mental health quality during a period of service development.

Our Quality Assurance Clinicians should hold a relevant mental health or learning disability qualification and be willing to work across both Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Autism pathways.

The team is part of the Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism Provider Collaborative, which has been involved in recent changes in commissioning and quality assurance, hosted by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).

This role is suited for a Mental Health & Learning Disability qualified clinician or allied health professional working with a team that collaborates with local authorities and commissioned organizations to process, fund, and conduct quality assurance reviews for s117 aftercare packages and specialist hospital placements within Birmingham & Solihull ICS. The role also involves clinical work to ensure Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) applications are prepared for submission to the Court of Protection. Travel within the West Midlands and occasionally further afield is expected, with an increasing focus on quality as the team develops.

You should be an experienced clinician from a Mental Health and/or Learning Disability setting, such as a nurse, allied health professional, or social worker, with an understanding of legal and clinical frameworks and pathways.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess good clinical and organizational skills, and have a keen eye for detail. The role involves managing a caseload of applications and reviews, and effective communication with providers, service users, families, and fellow clinicians. The position requires both independent and team working.
