Electrical Contractor - Oxford
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 + Benefits
An established and respected electrical contractor based in Oxford is seeking a skilled Project Engineer / Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key position offering long-term stability, excellent career development, and the opportunity to take ownership of varied commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders and quotations for works ranging from small refurbishments to £1m+
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, carrying out accurate material take-offs and procurement
- Lead projects from tender through to final account, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction
- Utilise IT software for estimating, project planning, and reporting (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint)
- Liaise with clients, principal contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure best-value solutions
- Attend design and progress meetings; prepare RFIs, method statements, and risk assessments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, consultants, and end-user clients
- Manage multiple projects including new builds, refurbishments, and small works packages
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, legislation, and quality standards
- Time-served electrician with strong technical and practical knowledge
- Proven experience in estimating and project management within an electrical contracting environment
- Commercially aware with experience working under various contract forms
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across project teams
- Valid UK Driving Licence essential
- NICEIC Qualifying Manager status or C&G 2391 desirable but not essential
- Competitive salary: £55,000-£60,000
