A prestigious legal firm in Cheshire is looking for a Company Secretarial Assistant. This hybrid role offers a chance to develop a career in corporate governance with a competitive salary between £28k-£35k. You will handle statutory compliance, management of subsidiaries, and support corporate governance projects. Ideal candidates will have a good understanding of UK governance requirements and be effective communicators keen to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Additional training and development opportunities will be provided to progress within the company.
Company Secretarial Assistant, Cheshire based - hybrid working. The Opportunity: You will join a high calibre legal and company secretarial team, under the supervision of a Chartered Company Secretary who will support your learning and development in corporate governance matters and future CGI qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing a career in the company secretarial field and ideally someone who is a graduate member with CGI or working towards qualification.
You will work in a varied role with good exposure to company law and corporate governance matters. Your responsibilities will include statutory compliance, Companies House filings, subsidiary management of both UK and international entities, share scheme administration as well as support with corporate governance projects including annual reports and post‑acquisition work.
You must have a good understanding of UK corporate governance requirements, either from your experience in a similar role in industry or in professional services. You will be an effective communicator with strong relationship building skills and attention to detail. You must be able to confidently work independently as well as part of a team and will be passionate about good governance. Experience with Diligent or similar company secretarial software packages would be beneficial.
You will be offered a competitive salary for the region of c£28k‑£35k, depending on experience, plus a range of employee benefits and flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week. You will join a collaborative environment with the opportunity to develop your corporate governance and company secretarial skills in a hands‑on technical role with lots of support. There is a genuine opportunity for this role to develop and progress into an Assistant Company Secretary role along with study support to become a Chartered Company Secretary.
