Job summary
A private healthcare group is looking for a Decontamination Technician to join them in St Albans for a temporary contract from November 12th to 16th, 2025. The role involves operating sterilization equipment, monitoring cycles, and ensuring compliance with infection control practices. Candidates should possess a high school diploma and preferably certification as a Sterile Processing Technician, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician or relevant experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control principles.
- Ability to follow protocols accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to protocols.
- Prepare and package instruments and supplies for sterilization.
- Monitor and record sterilization cycles for compliance.

We are working with a private health care group who require a Decontamination Technician to join them on a short-term temporary contract.
Hours: 12 - 10pm
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established protocols and procedures
- Prepare and package instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization
- Monitor and record sterilization cycles, including time, temperature, and pressure
- Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness and functionality
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities and inventory levels
- Follow infection control guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper sterilization practices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician or experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and supplies
- Understanding of infection control principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
