Job description
Overview

Wood requires a Production Technician on a core basis for Dana Triton. This role mobilises from Aberdeen on a 2*3 rotation.

Responsibilities

Role Overview:

  • Production technicians should have an overall working knowledge of plant, process and associated equipment for their specific industry. Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor and operate equipment
  • Gather data and maintain records
  • Carry out isolations and de-isolations as required
  • Prepare work permits
  • Prepare complex items of plant and equipment for maintenance
  • Prepare complex items of plant and equipment for start of operations
  • Identify production malfunctions or failures within the plant/process/equipment
  • Carry out first-line corrections if required by role
  • Interpret Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID)
  • Be fully familiar with and competent to operate essential safety equipment
  • Undertake task-based risk assessments and mitigate hazards in line with company procedures
  • Communicate effectively using verbal, written and IT formats with other staff for information transfer and shift handover
  • Understand industrial processes and practices

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Observe, gather and report process data, perform isolations, diagnose faults with a wide range of plant/process/equipment and components
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and safe working practices, with environmental and sustainability considerations
  • Understand reporting lines and procedures
  • Understand preparation and reinstatement requirements for work areas, materials and equipment, and consequences of incorrect actions
  • Suggest and develop modification requests to improve plant/equipment efficiency and safety
  • Know which tools and equipment to use, and follow training, methods, techniques, quality control and safety procedures
  • Understand defect types and appropriate action
  • Utilise process digital information, technology and equipment to support tasks and communication
  • Correctly use permitting and authorisation procedures to maintain plant and personnel safety
  • Read and interpret relevant P&ID drawings, specifications and quality standards
  • Identify defects and assist with remedial activities where required
  • Aware of regulatory guidance for safe isolations and reinstatement of plant
