Remote Pharmacist – North West Surrey Integrated Care Services (NICS). This is a fixed-term maternity cover role for an existing prescribing pharmacist, with flexible hours from home (6 hours per month) to support monthly prescribing audits for AIC and UTC.

• Conduct monthly audits of antibiotic prescribing for UTC areas and monthly audits of antibiotic prescribing and high-risk medications (e.g., benzodiazepines) for AIC.
• Verify indications, NICE guidance alignment, quantity, duration, necessity of prescriptions, and determine if the approach is first-line where appropriate.
• Provide feedback with suitable alternatives and share findings with the team.
• Assist with bi-annual audits on anti-emetics, quinolones, and gabapentinoids.
• Review Medicine Safety data from the MO team and highlight prescribing concerns; contribute to the Quality Matters communications every two months.
• Interpret monthly Surrey Heartlands prescribing data and provide feedback to clinicians; participate in ACP prescribing audits and related meetings.
• Identify MHRA alerts, disseminate to the wider team, and contribute to Quality Matters with updates and learnings.
• Assist with new PGD design, implementation and related meetings.

Job Title: Remote Pharmacist NICS

Reports to: Medical Director

The post holder will be an experienced pharmacist with an independent prescribing qualification. They will work within a multidisciplinary team to resolve medication-related issues and enhance the quality and safety of care for registered patients in North West Surrey. This is a non-patient-facing role.
