Job description

Go back King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Hepatitis Clinical Fellow

The closing date is 14 August 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month Hepatitis Clinical Fellow post to strengthen the clinical and academic hepatology service at Kings College Hospital (KCH) and its network partners. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop wide experience within the department, with sessions being dedicated to clinical work (which will include outpatient clinics) with some flexible sessions to develop relevant interests. The remaining sessions could involve clinically based research with the potential to develop bespoke clinical and research interests. The post could be tailored to specific interests within Hepatology /Hepatitis. An important component of this post will be to support the specialist nationally commissioned Hepatitis Network and its integrated pathways across primary and secondary care.

The post holder will be based in King's College Hospital as part of the Hepatology Hepatitis team and will be involved in delivering high standard clinical care within Hepatitis clinical trials. The diverse patient population attending Kings Liver clinics also offers an excellent opportunity to undertake translational Hepatitis research projects or quality improvement initiatives; supported by clinical academicians within Kings College London.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be involved in fixed clinical commitments which will be determined by both their clinical training needs and the service requirements of the Liver Unit. Clinical service commitments will be tailored to the experience and clinical requirements of the clinical network but will include 3 outpatient clinics per week as well as involvement in MDTs and clinical governance, and will complement to an extent a research project/ interest.
