Our client is seeking an Internal Sales Engineer with experience in electrical control and automation to provide sales and technical support, develop customer relationships, and promote products to maximize sales opportunities. The role is ideally suited for candidates living in the North of the Tyne area, including North Shields, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Longbenton, Jesmond, Cramlington, and Blyth.
The candidate should have knowledge of a wide range of electrical and automation products, including control gear, switchgear, automation equipment, variable speed drives, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, cable management, connection systems, enclosures, sensors, and possibly ATEX equipment.
Key responsibilities include responding to technical inquiries, understanding the full product range, advising on product selection, liaising with field sales, and generating quotations. Commercial awareness is essential to judge the competitive situation and ensure profitability.
Qualifications and experience required include GCSEs in Maths and English, with relevant electrical engineering qualifications (ONC/HNC or similar) preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, a full clean driving license, and experience in sales or customer service are necessary. Electrical engineering experience or a background in electrical distribution is advantageous. Candidates may include internal sales engineers, technical support engineers, electrical engineers transitioning to sales, or graduate engineers with customer experience.
