It’s an exciting time to join Simply Business’ People Team as we embark on our journey to globalize the way we work to enable better outcomes for our employees. We are seeking a Global Head of People Operations to lead our newly combined global People Ops teams who provide broad HR solutions and services to over 1,000 employees in the UK, US, and Poland. Reporting to the Global Chief People Officer and a member of the Global People Leadership Team, this pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in optimizing People Operations functions and a passion for leveraging data and technology to transform service delivery, process documentation, and knowledge management. This leader will focus on creating one SB employee experience, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute a strategic plan to unify location-based teams to enhance the employee experience.
- Enhancement of Self Service Capabilities: Leverage technology, data, and AI/ML to evolve our employee and manager self-service platforms.
- Change Management: Drive initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop the HR Operations team to build a high-performing, service-oriented group.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure HR service effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of ongoing enhancement, using feedback to optimize HR services.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure HR policies and operations comply with legal standards and reflect industry best practices.
- Employee Relations: Lead in resolving employee relations issues, in partnership with the People Partnering team, maintaining positive relationships.
- Budget Management: Oversee the HR operations budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Associate Experience: Champion initiatives to improve the overall employee experience and position Simply Business as an employer of choice.
- HR Technology: Oversee the HR tech stack to automate processes, ensure data integrity, and develop innovative solutions, in collaboration with internal teams.
- Governance and Audit: Lead people-related governance, including policy development and fostering an audit culture.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in HR operations or HR technology, focusing on strategic planning, data analysis, and process optimization.
- Strong legal and regulatory knowledge of UK and US labor markets.
- Experience in establishing new HR processes and implementing innovative digital HR solutions.
- Proven success in change management, organizational change, and gaining buy-in at all levels.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to handle strategic and tactical responsibilities.
- Experience driving continuous improvement in a global environment.
- Ability to manage complex employee relations with a focus on risk management and pragmatic solutions.
- Strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and influence across organizational levels.
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities, large initiatives, and measuring impact.
- Results-oriented, detail-focused, data-driven, with the ability to communicate complex data effectively.
- Ceridian Dayforce and Workday experience preferred.
