Job summary
A professional services firm in Milton Keynes seeks an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee client accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This is an Accounts Manager role based at our client's Milton Keynes office. The position offers the opportunity to lead and review a portfolio of accounts work, supporting the firm's continued growth and delivering a high-quality service to a varied client base.
- Reviewing and managing a portfolio of accounts jobs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Managing the preparation and finalisation of statutory accounts for FRS 102 and FRS 105 clients under the overall control of Directors and Principals.
- Overseeing the preparation of corporation tax returns for FRS 105 clients.
- Managing the preparation of sole trader accounts and the associated personal tax returns.
- Supervising and training junior staff, including on-the-job coaching, and reviewing their work.
- Advising and supporting clients using cloud-based systems (particularly Xero and QuickBooks Online).
- Managing the financial aspects of client relationships including budgeting, negotiation, billing, and recovery.
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong background in accounting within a professional services environment.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards and corporate tax matters.
- Experience in personal tax desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrable experience with cloud accounting packages, particularly Xero and QuickBooks Online, and relevant App integrations.
- Full-time role - Monday to Friday (hybrid working available).
- Annual Christmas Bonus equivalent to 1 week's salary.
- Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme - all staff are auto enrolled (Employer: 5%; Employee: 3%) subject to eligibility.
- Private Medical Insurance following completion of 3 months' service (taxable benefit).
- Death in Service scheme cover (4x salary).
- Group Income Protection Scheme (non-contributory) following completion of 3 months' service.
- Annual Leave: 25 days per annum (pro-rata), with 3 days typically taken at Christmas/New Year.
