Special Projects General Counsel - Latent Defects Claims

The Litigation/Latent Defects Claims Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing cases related to latent defect claims. The role also involves providing legal advice on complex construction contracts, license agreements, and other legal matters. Additionally, the role may require providing backup support for other administrative positions within the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and monitor the day-to-day management of case files;
• Draft clear, plain English advice for internal distribution;
• Advise on all aspects of construction contracts, including payments, extensions of time, loss and expenses, defects, procurement, and insurance issues;
• Review and contribute to submissions for adjudication and arbitration proceedings;
• Oversee proceedings in the Technology & Construction Court.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years PQE as a contentious construction lawyer, with experience in the property sector and some non-contentious work;
• Ideally, experience as a full-time construction solicitor or similar role since qualification;
• Strong academic background, with a minimum of a 2:1 degree in Law or an equivalent postgraduate qualification in construction law;
• Educational qualifications should include a Law degree and LPC.
