Role Overview
  • Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
  • Leading service on hot, cold, or event-based sections as required
  • Preparing high-quality dishes to corporate dining standards
  • Ensuring consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Managing junior kitchen staff and delegating tasks
  • Maintaining strict food safety, allergen controls, and HACCP compliance
  • Assisting with menu planning and event preparation during peak periods
Mandatory Requirements for Barclays Catering Roles
  • Basic DBS
  • Adverse Credit Check
  • 3 Years Employment History (must be proven via HMRC): https://www.gov.uk/get-proof-employment-history
  • NVQ Level 2 Food Safety
  • Allergen Awareness Certificate
  • Previous Sous Chef experience in a corporate, hotel, or high-volume kitchen
  • Strong understanding of hygiene, allergen legislation, and HACCP processes
Pay and Hours
  • Pay rate: £18.45 per hour (PAYE)
  • Monday–Friday corporate kitchen hours
  • Temporary cover for increased workload and events
