The PositionTechnicien Technique Support H/F
Job SummaryContext: The role involves providing technical support for the development of new products and innovative projects, as well as technical support to clients. The developed solutions serve markets such as ceramics, new mobility, and construction.
ScopeThe position is based in the laboratory and has a direct commercial impact, requiring:
- Accurate work that can inform strategic decisions,
- Proactive participation in the technical support team to create new products and solutions for clients.
ResponsibilitiesConduct laboratory tests ranging from preparation of mixtures to characterization of fired products under the supervision of the project technical manager. This includes preparing ceramic formulations, analyzing mineral samples, and characterizing mineral formulations throughout the ceramic process for applications in sanitaryware, tableware, tiles, refractories, and glass. Characterizations involve traditional ceramic techniques and advanced analytical equipment such as XRF, SEM, and XRD.
Provide technical support for product development and innovation projects within the PM EMEA Ceramics division through laboratory work onsite or at client locations.
Prepare samples, perform tests following established or innovative procedures, analyze and validate results, and ensure robustness, repeating tests if necessary.
Deliver clear, precise, and concise results via test reports, interpret results, and draw conclusions under the guidance of the project manager.
Maintain confidentiality and intellectual property rights of the results.
Ensure proper functioning of equipment.
Stay updated on mineral application technologies through internal publications.
Work primarily in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Additional Important TasksAcquire laboratory skills as needed.
Work flexible hours if required.
Travel to factories, other Imerys laboratories, and client sites up to 30% of the time, depending on projects.
Required Education- BUT or BTS in Physical Measurements or equivalent
- At least two years of experience in an applied sciences laboratory is preferred.
Skills NeededLaboratory experience, understanding of industrial minerals and their effects on final products and processes, good communication and IT skills, flexibility, autonomy, commitment, and proficient technical English.
