ChildVision is Ireland’s only dedicated national service for children and young people with a vision impairment, including those who are blind, neuro-diverse and living with complex disabilities.

Based in Drumcondra, Dublin and in Cork, ChildVision works creatively every day to make a positive difference in the lives of our young people and their families, creating nurturing, safe and supportive person centred environments where our young people thrive.

You are a highly motivated, energetic, qualified social care worker registered with CORU and dedicated to delivering a high quality, ethical, person centred residential social care service, within the context of an overarching human rights ethos.

• ensuring high standards of day-to-day care and support to vision impaired young people
• promoting our young people’s dignity, independence and autonomy
• working as part of a team to ensure that our young people’s goals are achieved
• prioritising the safety and well-being of our young people as central to the services we provide
• encouraging young people to be active participants in every decision concerning them
• delivering social, recreational and educational opportunities in the local community
• implementing the HIQA standards to a high degree
• documenting your practice to demonstrate professional, informed and considered rationales and opinions
• effectively contributing to decision making and showing real leadership
• building strong relationships with young people, families and colleagues
• being proficient in planning, organising and prioritising your own work-load and working effectively in complex environments
• participating in regular supervision, training and CPD opportunities
• understanding your responsibilities as a mandate person

• competitive salary
• Up to 30 days annual leave (pro-rata and experience dependent)
• Twilight pay between the hours of 6pm and 8pm
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Sunday hours between 6pm and midnight paid at double time
• sleepover shifts counted as part of your weekly hours
• service closed from 6pm Friday to 6pm Sunday
