About the Role :

This is a pre-sales role. Our Business Development Team is the first point of contact for many of our future customers. As a BDR, you will focus on setting up introductions with our ideal customers and qualifying their needs. This position reports to the Director of Business Development and works closely with our Field Sales Reps (FSRs).

We are looking for individuals excited to own their "business" within their territory. If you enjoy discovering the right buyers, crafting attention-grabbing messaging, and making meaningful connections, this role is ideal. Although not always the case, this position can serve as a stepping stone to becoming a full-cycle Salesperson (a closer).

As a Business Development Rep, you’ll benefit from ongoing training, mentorship, career and life coaching, and guidance. It’s a great way to start a career in cybersecurity and SaaS sales, with skills applicable across many disciplines.

Our Ideal Candidate - Does This Sound Like You?

This role involves sourcing new sales opportunities through phone, email, and social media (LinkedIn). Our ideal candidate can recognize patterns and apply those insights broadly, such as identifying prospects based on Buyer Persona training or following up after events.

Responsibilities :

  • Book meetings for the FSR
  • Qualify leads to convert them into opportunities
  • Excel in phone and email outreach
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Channel teams on special projects
  • Master relevant tools and software
  • Research prospective organizations that could benefit from SecurityScorecard’s cloud-based solutions
  • Identify decision-makers within those organizations

Basic Qualifications :

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development
  • A proven track record of consistent and effective sales development performance
  • Creative, persistent, and effective outbound messaging skills
  • Excellent communication, discovery, and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Outreach, and LinkedIn

  • Self-starter, comfortable working independently, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective research skills for finding new prospects
  • Technologically savvy and adaptable to new software
  • Receptive to feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement
  • Works with urgency and a positive, inviting attitude, embracing challenges
