About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Tester/Analyst to join our team remotely on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting both automated and manual testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and security of our software solutions. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, including product tests, system tests, load tests, volume tests, penetration, and network tests. Collaborating closely with internal teams and clients, you will identify potential issues, validate security standards, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reliable software products. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned QA professional to work on impactful federal projects, utilizing advanced testing tools and methodologies, while supporting NexGen’s mission to provide innovative IT solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a QA Tester/Analyst
- ISTQB or CSTE certification
- Advanced certification in LoadRunner from HP/MicroFocus
- Proficiency in LoadRunner scripting with protocols such as Http, HTML, Webservices, and True Client
- Experience with performance testing tools like Visual Studio, Webload, AppDynamics, and Splunk
- Strong understanding of programming languages including C, C#, and Java
- Knowledge of data structures, multithreading, and collections framework in C language
- Experience in designing and executing various performance tests including load, stress, volume, and endurance testing
- Ability to develop automated test scripts and scenarios based on business use cases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with a dedicated, interruption-free workspace
- U.S. citizenship, legal permanent residence, or U.S. work authorization with at least 3 years of continuous U.S. presence
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive test strategies and manage the entire quality lifecycle of DIIT projects
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, including automated and manual testing procedures
- Create and maintain automated scripts using LoadRunner for various business scenarios
- Design performance testing scenarios to evaluate system scalability, responsiveness, and stability
- Perform load, stress, volume, endurance, and fail-over/recovery testing to validate system robustness
- Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and retesting
- Collaborate with technical teams, subject matter experts, and project managers to align testing efforts with project goals
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards and regulations such as FISMA, FEDRAMP, and Section 508
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics using tools like AppDynamics and Splunk
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements and best practices
- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, and results for audit and knowledge sharing purposes
