SALES ASSOCIATE

REPORTS TO: Store Management

SUMMARY: The Sales Associate’s primary function is to sell and promote Tommy Hilfiger merchandise through execution of the TH Customer Service Standards. They also perform a variety of operational activities as assigned by Store Management.

Overall Responsibilities

  1. Consistently provides TH Customer Service to company standard.
  2. Keep merchandise filled to appropriate levels on sales floor.
  3. Ensure the store is visually distinctive and appearance impeccably maintained.
  4. Minimize shortages through proper loss prevention procedures.
  5. Demonstrates awareness of store sales plans and results.
  6. Demonstrates awareness of individual contribution to business results.
  7. Follow all operational policies and procedures.
  8. Manage time and prioritize tasks.
  9. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Attends Take 5 meetings and participates in staff meetings, as required.

Customer Service Responsibilities

  1. Generate maximum sales potential in accordance with the TH Customer Service standards.
  2. Builds repeat customer base through excellent service.
  3. Maintains strong knowledge regarding product, promotions, and special events in order to communicate to customers for more effective selling.
  4. Consistently foster a positive store experience by treating all customers and staff members in a fair and consistent manner.
  5. Effectively maintains zone coverage; acknowledges every customer within the zone; treats customers with priority over assigned tasks.
  6. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Manage time and prioritize tasks.

PERSONAL

  1. Represent the TH image through personal and professional appearance.
  2. Demonstrate professional image and conduct.
  3. Must be flexible to work rotating hours, as assigned by management.
  4. Communicate concerns to management.
  5. Maintain respect of peer group, staff and supervisor.
  6. Create energy and excitement around shared goals and values and acts with integrity.
  7. Support all company / management decisions.
  8. Change schedules, adapt to the needs of the position, undertaking night shifts, weekends and holidays.

Operational Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to Policies and Procedures.
  2. Observe sales floor and stockroom for loss prevention and advises management of any unusual internal or external activity.
  3. Execute Opening and Closing checklist duties as directed by store management to ensure store is always ready for business.
  4. Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and able to stand for long periods of time.

Merchandising & Visual Responsibilities

  1. Ensure consistent and accurate replenishment of product onto the sales floor.
  2. Comply with visual presentation standards.
  3. Execute markdowns and re-merchandise, as needed.
  4. Maintain store organization fixtures/hardware/general cleanliness.
