The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

• Develop new product part designs and generate accompanying type design documents
• Attend to product change requests and handle subsequent 3-D modelling and 2-D part drawing creation
• Upload design data into customer’s Product Definition Management (PDM) system and into our own PDM system
• Develop and implement project timelines and maintain product release schedules
• Follow CFR 25.856(a) and (b) with regards to flammability requirements for insulation methods and procedures for acoustic production
• Work on-site at customer location in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada and support routine problem solving activities with customer
• Manage project cost and schedule in customer meetings in supervisor’s absence

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to job start) from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of design and / or drafting experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
• One (1) year of experience using Catia V5 modelling and drafting software
• One (1) year of experience with Product Definition Management Software, including Enovia

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

• Experience managing customer expectations regarding schedule and requirements
• Experience with other IT tools including CITRIX, DATALINK, eROOMS, and SmarTeam
• Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience transacting in SAP

Work location :

Travel : May include up to 25% of the time in Canada and the United States
