Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the HR Business Services team through process improvements, delivery and decision making, core and advisory HR practices.
- Proactively present opportunities for improvement; develop and implement innovative and impactful HR programs and initiatives to support strategic priorities.
- Coach and support leaders to effectively address challenges, achieve goals, and maintain a value-based culture of high performance, trust, honesty, inclusion, and belonging.
- Provide unbiased guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, adherence to policies, fair resolution of issues, and mitigate legal risk.
- Have oversight for the company’s full-cycle recruitment, from posting to onboarding, in collaboration with leaders.
- Support the HR Compensation, Benefit, HRIS, & Payroll teams and Business in the annual workforce / compensation / benefit planning and support in the roll-out and communication to leaders and employees.
- Ensure performance program enables strong goal setting, coaching, performance feedback and delivery on Black Diamond’s goals through the contributions of employees.
- Create and update policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with organizational growth.
- In collaboration with the business, create and implement and support engagement initiatives to create a cohesive and inclusive value-based workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree with an emphasis in a human resource or business-related field is preferred, although a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is required.
- 10+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Prior experience with HRIS software is required.
- Prior project management experience is a strong asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience across all areas of Human Resources; a true HR generalist with an ability to also operate strategically.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build trust and rapport both in-person and remotely.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor leaders, helping them to build and refine their leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure HR practices meet legal standards and mitigate risk.
- Navigates ambiguity with ease; brings an ability to both think ahead and develop procedures and processes to support a consistent and innovative approach.
