Job summary
A drywall installation company in Surrey is looking for a drywall installer to apply and install drywall sheets. Candidates should have a secondary school graduation certificate and some experience in the field is required. This is a permanent position with 30 hours of work per week, primarily in English.
Qualifications
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall application.
Responsibilities
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels.
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound.
- Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
- Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
- Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
- Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and / or refugees
- Supports newcomers and / or refugees with foreign credential recognition
- Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment
- Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people
