Job Description

We are seeking an Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing journal entries and reconciliations, assisting with payroll and payments, preparing government remittances, and supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial record‑keeping.

Main duties
  • Maintain accurate financial records and set up, manage, and balance multiple accounts using both manual processes and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, prepare trial balances, maintain general ledgers, and assist in the preparation of financial statements
  • Calculate and process payroll payments and prepare cheques or electronic payments for payroll, utilities, taxes, and other operating expenses
  • Complete, prepare, and submit tax remittances, workers’ compensation documentation, pension contribution reports, and other required government filings
  • Prepare tax returns and provide additional personal or corporate bookkeeping support as required
  • Compile and prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports to support internal and external reporting needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or a related field
  • Strong written English communication and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate across teams
  • Experience supporting sales or business development teams is an asset
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are an asset
