Executive Vice-President, Public Affairs
The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is one of the most influential voices in Canadian health care. Representing physicians across the country, the CMA has shaped public policy, strengthened the health system, and championed the public interest for more than 150 years. As the national voice of the medical profession, the CMA is evolving its enterprise leadership structure to better mobilize the public, engage governments, and drive meaningful system reform.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice‑President, Public Affairs will lead a fully integrated portfolio spanning advocacy, government relations, policy development, communications, marketing, digital engagement, and public mobilization. The role is central to positioning the CMA as a national leader on issues that matter most to physicians, governments, and Canadians—designing strategies that influence public opinion, shape national debate, and strengthen trust in the medical profession. With a mandate that includes high‑stakes issues management, public trust‑building, and cross‑country engagement, the EVP will work closely with the CEO, Board, and elected President to advance the CMA’s mission.
