WSP has a new opportunity for a CAD Technician join our Drafting and Design Team on full-time basis. As an Intermediate Drafter/Technician at WSP, you'll be working with multi-disciplinary teams to provide technician and engineering design support on a wide variety of unique projects locally and around the world. You will be part of a global technical community of drafting, design, and BIM practitioners who collaborate, innovate, build enduring relationships, excel, and grow professionally in a robust culture of ownership. This role can be based anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area with the opportunity to work remotely using our VDI cloud environment. • You’ll be collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and consultants, understanding the requirements and incorporating those requirements into your work.
• You’ll be providing technical 2D drafting and 3D modeling and design analysis support on a wide variety of projects collaborating with colleagues in offices around the world.
• Preparing existing condition models based on a variety of sources including topographic surveys, aerial drone surveys, and satellite imagery.
• Preparing technical figures for reports and engineering drawings for conceptual, tender, and construction packages.
• You’ll be managing your own workload commitments by following an established workflow and data management process.
• Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, processes, and best practices.
• Continuous knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring to develop your skills and develop your career.
• Active participant in a global technical community of like‑minded practitioners.

• Technician or Technology Diploma or Degree or equivalent preferably in the disciplines of Environmental, Geotechnical, Mining and/or Civil Engineering.
• Must have experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D and working in consulting companies.
• Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in CAD Drafting and Design using AutoDesk Civil 3D.
• Experience with drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to following a prescribed set of global company standards, processes, and best practices.
• Willingness to learn and the desire to excel and thrive in an engaging, collaborative environment.
• You’re well organized and know how to prioritize multiple deliverables while demonstrating a flexible approach to competing deadlines.
• You have excellent problem‑solving skills and can identify alternative solutions to challenges.
• You have excellent oral/written communication skills using the English language.
• Provide technical support, mentoring and guidance to Junior CAD Technicians.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
