Senior Director, Construction Management Operations, Canada

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director, Construction Management Operations to lead and manage our Construction Management Operations team. Reporting to the Executive Vice-President and Market Lead, Rail Transit Delivery Systems and Construction Management, the Sr. Director is accountable for all operational performance and business activities within the Construction Management practice, ensuring the high standards of technical construction management services and client satisfaction. Key measures of success for this role shall be meeting chargeability objectives and sales target, delivering as sold, ensuring overall staff compliance and buy-in with processes, ensuring technical quality and excellence within the Practice and Global Technology Center (GTC) utilization combined with a people focus. This role will serve as the functional leader for construction management professionals and their teams, providing governance, mentorship, and oversight. This is a high‑impact role that blends leadership, operational excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership to the Construction Management practice uniting the operation’s under one common vision to achieve objectives with a focus on safety and excellence;
  • In collaboration with the Practice Leaders in other functions, develop and implement strategic plans to drive the growth and success of the Construction Management Practice;
  • Foster collaboration within the Construction Management Practice and with other Practices, Markets, Win Work and Project Delivery teams to ensure effective resource sharing, workload and project staffing;
  • Actively maximize chargeability and optimize the utilization rate of the Construction Management team;
  • Develop and maintain a network with other teams nationally and internationally to leverage technical expertise within the Construction Management Practice;
  • Participate in human resource processes (annual evaluations, salary reviews, training, etc.) and build high‑performing teams with a focus on retention and talent development to enhance skills and capabilities;
  • Set sales objectives and manage their achievement (pipeline, win rate, etc.);
  • Control adherence to commercial and pricing policies and corporate processes;
  • In coordination with Markets, define the strategy for the services provided by the Practice (seller‑doer model);
  • Define zipper plans with clients in coordination with Markets and Key Account Managers as well as ensure alignment on communication strategy;
  • Engage with clients to promote AtkinsRéalis and seek commercial opportunities;
  • Steer performance for project execution by actively manage the performance of MSA;
  • Cross‑sell other disciplines with our clients to help win work for other parts of the organization;
  • Identify key members of the delivery team of large projects and bid in collaboration with Markets and Win Work. Contribute to proposals and participate in Go/No Go decisions;
  • Participate in workforce planning to ensure appropriate skills and capabilities to deliver current and future market strategies in response to external factors and internal drivers;
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, excellence, innovation, integrity and diversity;
  • Develop Construction Management Practice‑specific (service‑specific) marketing materials;
  • Participate in conferences and trade events to promote and develop AtkinsRéalis;
  • Other duties as required.
