About the Role

We are seeking a Reinforcement Learning Engineer to design and deploy intelligent control systems that enable autonomous operation of complex robotic platforms. This role will focus on developing learning-based policies through simulation and translating them to robust real-world performance. You’ll work across simulation, control, and perception to drive intelligent behaviour in physical robots.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends state-of-the-art reinforcement learning with broader machine learning techniques — ideal for engineers who want to build real systems that learn, adapt, and operate autonomously in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement learning-based control policies using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and hybrid approaches.
  • Build and maintain physics-based simulation environments (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Gazebo) for training and validation.
  • Define state / action spaces, develop reward functions, and tune hyperparameters to align learning objectives with performance, safety, and efficiency.
  • Train, evaluate, and optimize policies using libraries such as Stable Baselines3, RLlib, or custom implementations.
  • Apply sim-to-real techniques including domain randomization, sensory noise injection, and continuous online adaptation.
  • Transfer policies to real-world robotic systems and integrate with sensors, actuators, and motion planning stacks.
  • Develop perception and classification models using supervised or unsupervised learning to support tasks such as object recognition, environment mapping, or interaction modelling.
  • Analyze and process multi-modal data (e.g., vision, force, time-series signals) to extract actionable insights that inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and product to iterate and validate system performance.
  • Document development workflows, testing protocols, and deployment pipelines for compliance and reproducibility..

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Robotics Engineering or a closely related field
  • Proficiency in Python with experience using reinforcement learning libraries (e.g., Stable Baselines3, RLlib, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience with physics-based simulation environments and robotic modelling.
  • Strong grasp of robotic kinematics, control systems, and interaction dynamics.
  • Experience designing reward structures for reinforcement learning with multi-objective trade-offs.
  • Understanding of sim-to-real transfer methods and domain adaptation strategies.
  • Familiarity with imitation learning or behaviour cloning from demonstration data
  • Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Isaac Sim or NVIDIA Omniverse ecosystem.
  • Experience deploying autonomous systems in safety-critical or regulated environments.
  • Exposure to sensor fusion techniques (vision, force, IMU, or tactile).
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
