Job description

Role: HR Generalist
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Onsite, Woodbridge HQ

HR Generalist

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive HR Generalist with 3+ years of progressive HR experience—ideally within start-up or high-growth environments. You will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and building strong people programs in collaboration with the Director of HR. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments and is ready to make a real impact.

About REV Capital:

Cashflow restrictions are a universal challenge for B2B business owners. At REV Capital , the leading North American provider of full-service factoring, we help our clients bridge that gap and grow sustainably.

How does invoice factoring work?

A business sells its unpaid invoices to a third-party company (known as a ‘factor’) at a discounted rate, receiving up to 98% of their invoice value immediately. The factor then handles collections and underwriting, so the business owner no longer needs to worry about net terms or chasing payments from their customers.

The result? Business owners can reinvest time and cashflow into their operations, helping them grow, stay competitive, and become industry leaders.

Want to learn more about the value of factoring? Here’s a practical breakdown by Loren, our CEO.

Our team at REV is passionate about helping others. We embrace diversity and inclusivity, offering a flexible environment where professional and personal growth happens – just like with the hundreds of clients we support daily.

Ready to make an impact? Let’s explore the difference you can make on our team!

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including welcome communication, adding them to the HRIS, while ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
  • Facilitate orientation to ensure new hires have the tools and support they need to succeed in their first 90 days.
  • Manage offboarding processes, including compliance around separation letters, final payments, and retrieval of company property as well as exit interviews and documentation.

HR Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Advise on and ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws and company policies by staying current with all relevant federal and provincial employment legislation, including the Canada Labour Code and applicable provincial employment standards acts.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect legal changes and best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate accessible HR documents and policies for managers and employees, ensuring alignment with current employment laws and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HRIS and personnel files (electronic and paper), ensuring all records are complete, current, and securely stored in accordance with Canadian data protection and record retention laws.
  • Conduct periodic self-audits of HR processes and records to identify gaps, ensure ongoing compliance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Generate and submit required HR reports to regulatory bodies, management, and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Escalate compliance issues promptly and participate in real-time resolution to mitigate legal and reputational risks.

Payroll Management

  • Process payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, compensation, and bonuses.
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll to the payroll department.

Recruiting & Candidate Management

  • Manage the recruitment process: job postings, resume screening, initial interviews, coordination, candidate engagement, and offer letters.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements, help develop and update job descriptions and establish recruitment strategies.
  • Engage directly with prospective candidates to ensure a positive experience throughout the process, while building the employer brand.
  • Manage and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including updating pipelines as well as ensuring timely communication and feedback to all stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of HR experience, with a strong track record in dynamic and high-growth environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Currently pursuing CHRP certification (Certified Human Resources Professional) or similar HR designation
  • Previous experience working in a start-up setting, with an understanding of the unique challenges and pace of early-stage companies
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and constantly evolving workplace
  • Experience reporting directly to or partnering with an HR Director or senior leadership
  • Solid understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace

What We Offer:

  • Employer matching RRSP program

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp .
